Activity Weekend 2017 Itinerary

Here it is then guys!

FRIDAY 7th July:

Right then, I’m pretty sure this is the car situation. We will aim to meet at Trailfinders at 7.15 am.

Car 1: Carol and Simon  (who will meet us in Illfracombe or somewhere en route)

Car 2: Adam, Georgia, Ken and Isabelle. (Ken and Isabelle will be coming back with Mark and Ally)

Car 3: Mark and Ally (who will meet us for dinner on Friday evening)

Car 4: Karl, Fiona, Sharon and Fawzia

Car 5: Jamie, Emma, Aravin and Neil

We will aim to get to Illfracombe for 12.30-1pm where we will go for some lunch.

We are meeting Matt for our Kayaking at 2pm here:
RNLI Lifeboat Station, Top of the main slipway
Ilfracombe Harbour – Ilfracombe – North Devon
Nearest Post Code – EX34 9EE

There is a long stay car park just down the road from here which we will park in and then go for lunch.

Kayaking will take around 2 hours. If it is nice weather we may do some stuff on the beach for a bit.

We will then make are way to the pub/hotel which is here :

Dinner will be between at 7.30 pm. Games will follow shortly after, I’ve got a good one this year!

SATURDAY 8th July:

Before breakfast Georgia is planning on running a 30 minute class, maybe around 8am. Lets see how we feel. This is obviously optional but a nice way to loosen up for the day and gives others something else to do whilst some watch the 3rd Lions test!

At 1030-45 am we are planning to drive to Baggy Point (This is around a 40 minute drive) to take on this circular walk:

“A circular walk around Baggy Point, the sand dunes of Woolacombe Warren and back along the beach with breathtaking coastal, sea and farmland views. An excellent route for wild flowers and bird watching. The area is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geological features”.

We will aim to drive to Baggy point which is around a 30-40 minute drive at 10:30am. If you would like a Packed Lunch the pub will provide you with one or there are local shops in Barnstaple if you would rather choose something else.

This is a relatively challenging walk which should take us between 4-5 hours.

Packed lunches will be available to purchase from the hotel or you may want to buy something from the town in the morning.

We should be back to our hotel for 6.630pm and dinner will be at 8pm on the saturday.

Sunday 9th July

We are meeting Matt for Coasteering at 11.00am so we will have to leave the hotel at 10.15am at the latest. We are meeting at the local swimming pool in Illfracombe and will be able to use their changing facilities and showers afterwards. This will take around 3 hours. We can go for something to eat afterwards somewhere or you can shoot off if you need to get back.

Kit List

What to bring:-
H2o watersports will supply all safety equipment, kayaking equipment and wetsuits if required, however you will need to bring something to wear under the wetsuit (swim wear is ideal), and something to wear on your feet. Trainers are fine but as they get wet we find that people prefer to wear sea shoes or wetsuit boots. In addition, please bring with you :-
· A Drink
· Some Sun Cream
· A Towel
· Some Spare Warm Clothing
· Some Change for the Car Park
· Any Required Medication.

For the Saturday:

Walking boots or Shoes

Water Bottle


Waterproofs (just in case)

Some snacks
