Memuna is a great athlete. She is a phenomenal runner and an extremely fit and enthusiastic lady. She was a pleasure to train and show her how doing the correct strength training can improve her running even further. Memuna was kind enough to write a review for us:
“Before attending personal training at West London fitness in Ealing, I was generally fit and did a lot of cardio workouts, but I didn’t pay much attention to building strength. This was partly because I found it quite dull and also because I didn’t know how to carry out the exercises correctly and safely. I wanted to get back into long distance running after a long break from it, but I knew that in order to do this injury free and to achieve better running times I would need to improve on strength. Jamie was able to quickly see what I needed to work on. The sessions were well-tailored to my needs and I was introduced to new equipment and exercises which were a refreshing change from my normal gym workouts. Not only did I learn a lot about the purpose of the exercises and how to carry out the exercises correctly and safely during the sessions, I had fun. Also as part of the programme, I gained useful nutritional advice about how to sustain my energy levels throughout the day, following the completion of a food diary.
After 10 sessions, I have seen an improvement in my posture and have built more strength to support my running. I am now more confident when using equipment at the gym, in the knowledge that I’m carrying out the exercises correctly. In between the 10 sessions, Jamie persuaded me to participate in a mud run “Back to the Trenches” with the West London Fitness team; something I would not normally do as I don’t like the cold, wet and mud! However, Jamie and all the team members of West London Fitness were really supportive and encouraging during the event and it was a boost to my confidence and left me with a real sense of achievement. I’ve now entered my first road race after about 7 years of not running, which is quite exciting.
I’ve found Jamie and the West London Fitness Team take time to understand you, so all the exercises and advice match your needs, and therefore has a much greater impact in achieving your training goals. I’ve found it to be a valuable experience, so thanks to everyone at West London Fitness.”
