Events to Train for in 2014 with West London Fitness

Events to train for in 2014!

Happy New Year! Always good to start the new year off with some goals and targets. For many of you it will just be more of the same, continuing with your regular exercise and healthy eating. Sometimes it is nice to have something to train for just to keep you motivated or even kick start you into a new routine. I know some of you are planning on competing in the London Marathon and others are training for a London to Paris cycle, fantastic!

This year we are going to start with entering Back 2 the Trenches Mud Run London Redhill on Sunday 23rd of March. This will be either a 5km or 10km event, you can take your pick. Dan Bowdrey and Neil Wells did this with me in October 2013 and it was great fun. We had a team of 20 for Tough Mudder in June last year, if we get 10 or more who are keen we will get a team discount. Who’s keen? We will run a free training event for this in February.

Next Up is the Ealing Eagles 10k on Sunday 11th May. A few of us have already entered this. If you like running then this is something great to train for whether it be to beat your time or build up to finish the distance. We are expecting a decent turn out for this. I know Su Colman will be doing it and possibly Tracey Beesley andSharon Norman?

West London Fitness is planning on completing the 3 peaks in 24 hours challenge sometime in June this year. Let me know if you are keen and we will work out the logistics of it all when we have an idea on numbers.

After that we will look to get the distance up as we support the Ealing Half Marathonon Sunday 28th September. This is a fantastically well organised event and an amazing achievement if you do it.

Last up something a bit different. A 10km obstacle night run in Essex on Saturday 15th November called Night Rush Extreme Run! That might not be for everybody!

These are just some fun things that we will be doing in 2014 to keep us motivated with our exercise but we are here to help you with whatever your health and fitness goals are, they don’t have to involve jumping in cold water so no need to panic!
